GVBA Home

Welcome to the home of the Gilbert Valley Bucks!

Its official, the 2026/27 Basketball Season starts on October 12th 2026

SEASON 2026/27 STARTS ON OCTOBER 12th 2026

Are you ready?

Registrations are now open.

The GVBA Committee has decided to continue being part of the LABA competition, an exciting step that gives our players the opportunity to experience more competitive games, meet new people, and enjoy a greater variety of matchups.

In previous seasons, GVBA managed its own competition. Now, as part of the LABA network, we’ll benefit from added structure, support, and connection to the wider basketball community.

While this change brings a little extra travel, it also opens the door to new experiences and continued growth for our players and association.

Games will be held between Riverton, Kapunda, Freeling and Eudunda.

Welcome to season 2026/27

The 2026/27 season is set to commence on October 12th 2026. Team lists and season fixtures will be published on the website and on the Basketball Connect app soon.

The committee would like to thank everyone for their patience as we finalised registrations and set up the season.

Information

Mini Hoops and Training
Mini Hoops is a fun and supportive program designed to introduce our youngest players to basketball. Participants learn fundamental skills in ball handling, movement and basic gameplay in a positive and engaging environment.

Planning is currently underway for our 2026 Mini Hoops program. Dates, times, venue and registration details are yet to be confirmed and will be shared once finalised.

Please keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for updates.

Boys and Men
Male teams will play against Kapunda, Freeling and Eudunda on a Monday night.
Game equipment is supplied by the association. Participants are required to wear a Bucks jersey and black shorts without pockets.

Girls and Woman
Female teams will play against Kapunda, Freeling and Eudunda on a Wednesday night.
Game equipment is supplied by the association. Participants are required to wear a Bucks jersey and black shorts without pockets.

Uniforms
Players must wear appropriate footwear, sneakers or basketball shoes to play and shorts without pockets for safety reasons. Basketball tops are also to be worn, these can be purchased here https://gilbertvalleybucks.square.site/s/shop

Team communication
Teams are able to communicate with coaches through the Basketball Connect app. It is players responsibility to inform their coach if they are unavailable for a game. We will be using the Basketball Connect platform as our primary method of communication over the course of the season, so we encourage everyone to download the app and play around with it before the season commences.

Canteen
Alicia Clarke will once again be coordinating our canteen this season, and we sincerely thank her for volunteering her time and effort.

To keep the canteen open and running smoothly, we need the support of parents and volunteers throughout the season. Last year, the canteen was often left unmanned or junior players were relied upon to serve, which cannot continue this season.

We ask all families to please help with a canteen shift when available. Even a small amount of your time will make a big difference and ensure the responsibility does not fall on just a few people.

If you can help, please contact Alicia or get in touch with the association.
